1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SightWord app (the “App” or “we”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please stop using the App.

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Service Description

SightWord is a foreign language learning app powered by AR and photo recognition. Core features include:

• Scanning real-world objects with your camera and seeing AR labels with the corresponding foreign word in real time
• Photographing objects to view words, pronunciation, and example sentences
• AI-powered image recognition — captured photos are sent to our servers and processed by AI vision models to identify objects (see Section 4 below and our Privacy Policy)
• Saving learned words to a visual vocabulary book
• Daily exploration quests and review sessions
• Learning progress tracking and statistics
• Premium subscription to unlock additional features

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

3. Account & Age Requirements

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for users of all ages, including young children. If you are a minor, please read these terms with a parent or guardian and use the App only with their consent. A parent or guardian accepting these terms on behalf of a minor is bound by these terms for both themselves and the minor.

You agree to ensure that any information you provide while using the App is truthful, accurate, and complete. If you discover any unauthorized use of your account, please notify us immediately.

4. User Content

Photos taken through the App and learning records you create belong to you. Photos are stored locally on your device by default. When you use the object recognition feature, the captured photo is sent to our servers and forwarded to a third-party AI vision model provider solely to identify the object and generate a result for that request. We do not store your photos on our servers or retain them after the recognition result is returned, and we do not use them for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.

You agree not to use the App to capture, upload, or process any illegal, infringing, or inappropriate content. We have the right, but not the obligation, to review or remove content that violates these terms.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

SightWord offers a Premium subscription with the following terms:

• Subscription Types: Annual or monthly plans; exact pricing is shown within the App Store.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal in your account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
• Billing: After confirming a purchase, the fee is charged to your Apple ID account.
• Refunds: Refunds are subject to Apple's standard refund policy. Please apply through Apple Support.
• Restore Purchase: You can use the “Restore Purchase” feature in the App to link your existing subscription to a new device.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and all its content (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software) are the property of SightWord or its content suppliers and are protected by international intellectual property laws.

Without our prior written consent, you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, display, license, or create derivative works from any content within the App.

7. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim the following:

• The App's object recognition feature is powered by AI large model technology. Recognition results are for reference only and are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate.
• Learning outcomes vary by individual; we make no guarantee of specific results.
• The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any express or implied warranties.
• We do not guarantee that the App will run uninterrupted, timely, securely, or error-free.

8. Service Changes & Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the App (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or termination.

If you materially breach these terms, we may terminate your access. Any purchased subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation between the parties.

10. Terms Updates

We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
